Labor Day Retreat Registration Begins!

Registration has started for the Labor Day retreat. The cost will be $90, $115 if your student wants to do horseback riding. We are going to Shenandoah Springs Retreat Center in Madison, VA(location of last year’s High School Retreat). The theme this year is “Connect”. We will explore how to be a part of a faith community. A friend of mine, Josh Daffern (Pastor to Students at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA) will be leading our teaching times and Joel Harder will be leading our times of worship. All students will be at the camp at the same time. Our worship times, meal times, and play times will be combined with separate times in small groups based on age.

All student who are WILL BE in 7th-12th grade in the fall are invited. Friends are welcome as well.Registration is available on the FBCA website:

Laser Tag Saturday after AYC-Now open to all students!!

Just a reminder that this Saturday, June 19th, we will be going to Shadowland for a couple games of Laser Tag. I’m going to go ahead and open this to ALL YOUTH. Youth Church starts at 6pm. After its over we will head over to Shadowland off of Franconia Rd. We will be done with everything and students will need to be picked up no later than 9pm at the Youth Garage.

Please find the updated Summer Calendar under the Parents Tab. The calendar just reminds of dates but look in the weekly buletin and Student Ministry Update Email for specifics.

Aaron Carpenter’s Resignation

Aaron Carpenter has resigned as the Student Ministry Associate as of June 16th, 2010. The Carpenters will be heading back West to be closer to family and to pursue som areer opportuities in the teaching field for Crystal. Please pray for them as they return west. He has done a great job and I’m disappointed they wont be here longer but I understand and wish them well.
